My Favorite Hyatt Sweet Spots

Hyatt is one of the most valuable hotel loyalty programs for beginners. With the right redemptions, you can turn a reasonable number of points into incredible stays.

Where to Redeem

Four Hyatt Sweet Spots

🏝️

All-Inclusive Resorts

These resorts often cost $600–$1,200+ per night, but can frequently be booked for 25,000–45,000 Hyatt points, including food, drinks, and entertainment.

Examples

  • Hyatt Ziva Cancun
  • Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana
  • Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen

Why it's a sweet spot: You're replacing a very expensive cash stay with a reasonable number of points.

🌴

Luxury Resorts

These properties regularly cost $800–$2,000 per night, making them incredible uses of Hyatt points.

Examples

  • Andaz Maui
  • Grand Hyatt Kauai
  • Alila Ventana Big Sur
  • Park Hyatt St. Kitts

Why it's a sweet spot: High cash prices mean your points stretch further than at standard hotels.

🏙️

Expensive Cities

When hotel prices spike during holidays or events, Hyatt award prices often remain much more stable, providing outstanding value.

Examples

  • New York City
  • Chicago
  • San Francisco
  • London
  • Tokyo

Why it's a sweet spot: City cash rates can surge, but award nights stay predictable.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Family Travel

Many Hyatt properties offer family-friendly perks that can save families hundreds of dollars per trip.

Examples

  • Large suites
  • Free breakfast for Globalists
  • No resort fees on award stays
  • Kid-friendly resorts

Why it's a sweet spot: Award stays avoid resort fees, and suite upgrades can fit the whole family.

10 Family-Friendly Hyatt Resorts Worth Booking With Points

One of the reasons I love World of Hyatt for family travel is that your points can get you much more than just a hotel room. Think waterparks, lazy rivers, huge pools, beach access, family suites and resorts with enough activities that the hotel becomes part of the vacation.

Here are 10 family-friendly Hyatt properties in the U.S. worth putting on your radar.

  1. 1

Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Suites

    Clearwater Beach, Florida

This is an especially great option for families because of the space. The resort sits right across from beautiful Clearwater Beach and has a lovely elevated pool overlooking the Gulf. Many rooms and suites offer kitchens or kitchenettes, and families can book spacious one- and two-bedroom suites with separate living areas. It's a great setup when you want more than a standard hotel room.

Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa

    Bonita Springs, Florida

If your kids love pools, this one should be high on the list. The resort has a huge waterpark with multiple pools, waterslides and a lazy river. Families can also take a ferry to the resort's private island beach, making it easy to spend several days here without running out of things to do.

Simply Points Tip

Before Paying Cash, Check the Points Rate

Before paying cash for a family resort, always check the points rate. World of Hyatt can offer excellent value, particularly at resorts where cash prices are high.

And don't look only at the room price when deciding whether using points is worthwhile. A resort with a waterpark, beach access, kids' activities or a family suite may also save you money on entertainment, or simply make traveling with kids a whole lot easier.

Even better: If not yet a Hyatt Globalist, World of Hyatt has what are called Guest of Honor (GOH) awards. If you can secure one of these for your stay you may get a free upgrade and you will get free breakfast for up to 4 people for 7 nights!

How to Get Hyatt Points

Transfer Chase Points to Hyatt

One of the biggest reasons people love Hyatt is that you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards® points directly to Hyatt. New to this? Read our step-by-step guide to transferring Chase points to Hyatt.

Recent Hyatt changes:

Effective early 2026, World of Hyatt overhauled its award chart. It went from 3 pricing tiers (Off-Peak/Standard/Peak) to 5 tiers (Lowest/Low/Moderate/Upper/Top) per category, and around 90 hotels shifted categories. Unfortunately, this means that Hyatt hotels during peak times are more points than in the past. As of now, however, they are still my favorite redemptions.

Also, unfortunately, the Chase > Hyatt transfer ratio is changing to 4:3 effective October 2026 for all but the Chase Sapphire Reserve card.

Cards that earn transferable Chase points include:

Hyatt Points

25,000/night

Value

3.4¢/pt

$850 ÷ 25,000 = 3.4 cents per point. That's considered an outstanding redemption.

Pro Tip

Compare Before You Redeem

Don't automatically redeem points through the Chase Travel℠ portal. Before booking, compare the number of points required through the portal with transferring your points to Hyatt.

In most cases, transferring your points can save thousands of points and provide significantly more value.
